Brandy looked down. Cathy was not moving. She fell from the rain gutter to the grass in Brandy’s yard. Maybe she was dead. Good Brandy thought. She then looked at the branches she was perched upon. They were starting to break. "Help!",Brandy yelled hoping some one would hear her. She didn’t move. She was afraid if she moved,one of the branches would break. Suddenly,she saw a car pull up. It was Brett’s car. She was excited. She wanted to jump up and down,but she stayed still. Brett got out of his car. She yelled his name from the tree. He looked up and saw her. "Are you okay?",asked Brett. "Yeah",said Brandy,"Brett,get me out of here!" "Stay there.",said Brett,"I'll get help." "I don’t think I’m going to go any where!",said Brandy in a sarcastic tone. "You’ll be okay.",said Brett trying to sound heroic.
Brett was halfway across the yard. He stopped and looked up at Brandy. That’s when he felt it. Some icy fingers were wrapped around his foot. He looked down and saw Cathy smiling at him. "Miss me baby?",said Cathy with a devilish grin. She pulled on his foot and he fell to the ground. Cathy rolled onto him. She wrapped her hands around his neck. He wrapped his hands around hers. The two choked each other,and made noises. He rolled her over and got onto her. He let go of her neck and punched her in the face. She let go of him. She rolled over and got up. Brett backed up. Cathy punched him and he fell against the tree.
Brandy fell. The force from Brett hitting the tree broke the branch she was holding and knocked her out of the tree. Suddenly,she wasn’t falling. She looked up and saw that her hands were wrapped around another branch. Below her,Brett and Cathy were still fighting. Brett grabbed Cathy. He hit her head against the tree as hard as he could. Brandy’s hands were slipping and she held on for dear life. "Hang on Brandy!",Brett called to her. Brett ran inside the house. He saw Sally’s dead body. He assumed Ray was dead too. Brett picked up the phone and called the police.
Brandy was in the hospital bed. Brett was in the room with her. She was safe now. Cathy was gone. Back in the mental hospital now. Brandy looked at Brett with a strange look on her face. "What is it?" asked Brett. "If Cathy was still in the hospital at the time of the first murder,then who killed Officer Williams?" Brett's face turned completely pale.
